Microneedling Therapy also called Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), and Percutaneous (through the skin) Collagen Induction (PCI), is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of the MD Needle Pen.

The mechanical action of the microneedle pen allows the needles to puncture the skin and create controlled injuries to the skin at a specific depth. Each puncture makes a channel that triggers the skin’s natural healing process to fill these micro wounds by producing new collagen and elastin in the papillary dermis. In addition, new capillaries are formed for improved blood supply.

With Microneedling, the top layer of the skin is parted without being damaged, leaving the skin intact.  It does not “burn” your skin like peels or more invasive lasers. The needle penetration depth can be adjusted from 0.25mm to 2.50mm into the skin depending on the area of the body and the skin condition being treated. Using skin needling consistently will trigger the bodies repair process until the desired level of skin rejuvenation is achieved.

Microneedling results in the production of new collagen and elastin, improvement in skin tone and texture, firmness as well as reduction in scars, pore size, and stretch marks.

Our microneedling treatment begins with a thorough consultation to assess your individual needs and concerns and determine the best course of treatment.

Before the procedure, we thoroughly cleanse your skin to remove any makeup, oils, or debris. We then apply a numbing cream to the treatment area to minimize any discomfort during the procedure.

Once the numbing cream has taken effect, we begin to treat the area of concern. During the procedure, we use hyaluronic acid followed by unique serums, Chinese Herbs, or growth factor solution depending on your particular concerns to enhance the results of the treatment. The micro-channels created by the needling can increase the skin’s ability to utilize the topical nutrients by up to 300%.1

After the microneedling procedure, your skin will be treatment to a complementary red light therapy session to further enhance the healing and rejuvenating treatment.

Your skin may be red and slightly swollen for a few hours after the session. We will provide you with aftercare instructions to ensure that your skin heals properly and to minimize any potential side effects. It is important to avoid direct sunlight and to use a high-quality sunscreen to protect your skin during the healing process.
